I am currently 30 years old, and this will be the first pregnancy I will hopefully be able to carry to term. 10 years ago, from ages 19 to 21, I became pregnant 3 different times, but had to have d&c's because each time I was pregnant I had been hospitalized for different things. First, I had spinal meningitis,and then almost a year later had puntured lungs for which I received several xrays causing damage to the fetus. I was not aware that I was pregnant during any of these hospitalizations, and therefore damage was done, and I was medically advised to complete the d&c's. Since then, I have tried to get pregnant but without success. After the medical issues I became a heroin addict for about a year, followed by methadone treatment up until 2 months ago. I was on methadone for drug addiction as well as spinal disc problems due to the meningitis. My current boyfriend whom Ive known since high school,but just recently started dating the past three months has seen me through so much.He has been a blessing in disguise, and I feel like god has given me another chance at not only motherhood, but at life...a new beginning so to speak. So as this is meant to be simply a brief view into my past, I hope my upcoming posts will help to benefit anyone, and everyone in any way possible.
